PEMBEKALAN KELAS ENAM

A HAPPY SWEET MEMORY

AT MY SCHOOL’S AUDITORIUM

RAMADAN 3, 1430 H

AFTER LISTENING TO BARACK OBAMA’S SPEECH

U: Okay, now! Who knows what Obama said in his speech we just heard? Anybody knows? None? Okay, Miss... What’s your name? Dayang? Alright, choose one of your friends to answer my question!

D: Emm... Nur from Malaysia, Sir!

U: That’s good! Where is she? Where are you, Nur?

W: I’m here, Sir!

U: Okay, mention what you understand from Obama’s speech!

N: Eee... ‘Thank you’...

U: Thank you... Good! So, another word?

N: Engg... ‘Salam’... Oh no! I don’t know more, Sir?!

U: Never mind... It doesn’t matter... Then, choose your friend to mention it, please!

N: Yeah... I’ll choose... Ai!

U: Ai? Okay, where is our sister, Ai?

A: (writing on her notebook inattentively) Hah??!! Why?? What happened?

U: Stand up, please! I would like to ask you something...

A: Alright... (standing up in her place)

U: Where are you from, Ai?

A: I... I’m from Bondowoso, Sir!

U: Bondowoso? Okay, I let you answer my question now... What do you understand from Obama’s speech?

A: (thinking hard and hoping for the help of others since she didn’t hear it well just now!) Emm... He was... speaking... about... (looking around) Okay... Bismillah... He was speaking about ‘Islam’ commonly... but I don’t understand the exact words, Sir... (She answered that because she only heard the word: Islam, hehe ^_^)

U: Great! You got it! Her answer is good! I know you don’t understand, but your answer is enough for now... Okay, applause for her...

M: Applause for Ai...

A: Alhamdulillah... I've answered it... (smiling happily)

U: Next question, my daughter... What will you do after graduation, Ai?

A: (thinking for a moment) I’ll study... Mathematics and other exact subjects, Sir! Because I haven't mastered them well yet...

U: Sure, you’re excellent, my daughter! Now... I want to try... Read the chapter of this book, please... (showing a book in front of me, with a chapter written in Arabic letters without any syakl/harakah) Try to read it!

A: (thinking for a while) كتب غيرت التاريخ, Sir!

U: Okay, applause, my daughters! She answered perfectly! It’s brilliant! How happy would I be if every student of our school could read Arabic letters like this!

M: Applause for Ai...

A: Alhamdulillah... ^_^

U: بنتي طيّبة... I want you to read this page completely! (choosing a page) Try to read it on your own, my daughter... (handing the book to her)

A: (touching the book carefully)

U: Begin, please... Bismillah...

A: (looking around) Okay, Bismillahirrahmanirrahim...المسلمون والرياضيات...

U: طيّب يا بنتي ... استمري ... أنت جيدة!

A: بدأ الاهتمام بالرياضيات يتزايد لدى المسلمين منذ أن نزل..... (till the last)

U: Alhamdulillah... قراءتك ممتازة...! زه يا بنتي!

M: Applause...

A: Alhamdulillah...

U: I’ll let you have that book, my daughter! Please, take it!

M: Waaahhh...

A: (only smiling, feeling confused in the situation)

F: Hey, that book is for you! You ought to say thank you...

A: Oh yeah? Really?? This book is mine??!! Oh, what a kind teacher! (waiting for the ustadz to see her) Ustadz, thank you very much! ^_^
